After spending two nights at The Grand Wailea, we will travel to Lahaina, located on the side of the island that looks like a fish tail. There we will spend the next four nights at the Royal Lahaina Resort.
Here is the website link: http://www.royallahainaresort.net
We'll be staying in four rooms in the family sized cottages that speckle the resort gardens. Walk down the cottage trail to the main hotel corridor for food, or to the ocean side pool for snuba lessons, or to the beach. No, I did not misspell scuba. "Snuba" is a scuba snorkeling hybrid that an "80s fabulous Hawaii 5-0" instructor will inevitably convince you to try in the hotel pool.
Set your own schedule in the next four days depending on your desired activity level. After a walk along the neighboring golf course every morning, you will find me on the beach with a book. You will see Joshua's back as he snorkels the day away. Snorkel alongside endangered turtles, hundreds of tropical fish, and beautiful coral. This snorkeling spot is one of the best on the island, and is directly adjacent to the hotel. If you are truly brave, jump from a 40 foot high cliff into the ocean!
Lahaina neighbors Kaanapali, a bustling area of fun-potential: shopping, dining, fishing excursions, surfing lessons, advertisements for tourist geared luaus, and opportunities for listening to time-shares (excursion discounts). Escape on a day trip to enjoy Maui's many waterfalls and bamboo forests.
There are so many different activities. The resort offers catamaran cruises, or can help you reserve the following:
- Reserve Helicopter Tours
- Whale-Watching Cruises
- Parasailing
- Snorkeling and Scuba Excursions
- Sightseeing
Save money by keeping some grocery items in your cottage mini-fridge and make a picnic lunch and beverage for the beach. But, there are spectacular local foodie spots that we have to try. We will also want to enjoy at least one buffet style breakfast at the resort - soooo delicious!
You will love the Royal Lahaina's laid back atmosphere. Whatever activity you chose, its impossible not to enjoy yourself in Maui
