Mmmmm, Maui Munchies!

We hope you are enjoying your "Maui Revealed" books! Your book will give you great food recommendations. Restaurants marked with "ONO" in the book mean that these restaurants have earned the author's high praise. We'll primarily be staying in these two places:

-- Wailea area - South Maui (generally p.127-137 / restaurants start p.264)
-- Lahaina area - West Maui (generally p.44-64 / restaurants start p.252)

Maui has some of the most delicious foods we have ever tasted. Prepare your taste buds for some of these places:

In Wailea

The Grand Wailea has an awesome sunrise breakfast/brunch you will want to bring an appetite for. Don't let me forget to make reservations. Check out the menu:

Sunrise Family Buffet - 28
Continental Buffet - 22

Sansei Seafood & Sushi (page 270) - the best seafood and sushi I have ever eaten. They also have treats for the non-sushi / seafood eaters. After 10 p.m., they have an awesome happy hour w/ 1/2 price options. http://www.sanseihawaii.com

Da Kitchen (p. 271) http://www.da-kitchen.com/ Awesome local Maui food, teriyaki chicken, kalua pork - spectac! I may go there every day we are in Wailea. Awesome.

In Lahaina

When we get to Lahaina, we will go to the local grocery store in order to save some cash. Dining in Maui can be expensive, so don't plan on eating out at every meal. Load up on granola bars, bread, fruit, crackers, etc. that we can keep in our rooms. We also have mini-fridges in our rooms so you can keep sandwich meat, cokes, milk, etc. We'll also likely need to hit the beverage store so you don't blow your dining budget on the $12 pool side drinks, though they are delicious.

Check out pages 260-261 for the West Maui Local cuisine recommendations and 262 for the West Maui Pacific Rim recommendations, all with ONO ratings. These sound awesome!

Also the Royal Lahaina breakfast buffet is out of control yummy! $20 / person. Check out the menu here:

Yall will love it. Don't plan on going to your chain restaurants like BJ's, Melting Pot, Chili's, etc. Those are all available back at home. Plan on trying new cuisine with names you can barely pronounce. You won't be disappointed!
